IoT is all the rage with consumers today. What’s with this new IIoT, a.k.a., Industrial IoT? Who are the customers for Industrial IoT and what do they actually need?
When my brother Lorenzo and I made Valarm years ago, we realized our industry expertise gave us an advantage in providing real-time remote monitoring solutions for companies, businesses and organizations around the world. Today, when I’m asked the everyday question “What do you do?” – I often say remote monitoring and sensor telemetry solutions.
However, now there’s a widely known 3rd synonym, Industrial IoT / IIoT, that I like to use to quickly and easily explain to folks what we do at Valarm.
Our key differentiator is that we develop strong relationships directly with our customers. We believe that going to the field in person and getting our boots dirty is a real, authentic way to understand customer needs. Sometimes customers can’t articulate exactly what they need. You’ve gotta see it in person with your own eyes and feel it with your own hands.
When the Valarmy is there in-situ, in the field, we get a better understanding of the customer’s challenges and how we will overcome their obstacles together. Yes, this takes time, and it’s what we love to do. It’s part of what makes Valarm a unique software company. We enjoy providing amazing customer service.
And we love being part of the whole IIoT monitoring process. From out in the boonies in the field, sweating it out in the heat or freezing in the arctic ice blast cold, close to the metal, all the way up to the clouds, then to you, your teams, and your organization’s computers, tablets, and mobile phone devices. All the while being flexible so we can provide the most appropriate real-time alerting and telemetry solutions for your particular needs. We believe that working hand in hand with customers is the best way to get things done.
