AQMD is the government agency responsible for air quality monitoring and compliance in Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and the majority of Southern California.
Fortunately, AQMD has the state of the art Air Quality Sensor Performance Evaluation Center (AQ-SPEC). AQ-SPEC is the first comprehensive evaluation center to test low-cost air quality sensors and subject the sensors to a wide range of environmental conditions. AQMD tests and evaluates the performance of all kinds of air quality sensors from all over the world, and then determines how they stack up to $$ million dollar or more / really expensive, official EPA standard air quality sensors. In other words, AQMD’s field testing provides side-by-side comparison with EPA-approved instruments and methods.
What does this mean? This means you can work with us to get the most bang for your buck for your your air quality monitoring boxes! There’s a huge difference in the super low-cost air quality sensors vs. those that are simply low-cost yet extremely effective when compared to US EPA standard, crazy expensive air quality sensors.
