Last week we had a booth at the Esri Public Sector CIO Summit! The conference took place in Redlands, California, on the Esri campus and focused on government solutions as well as geographic information systems (GIS) technology.
Valarm’s real-time, ad-hoc mobile sensor networks provide a solution for a variety of government and municipal applications such as:
- Air quality (e.g., gases and other dangerous chemicals such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia)
- Vehicle / asset tracking (e.g., snowplows & refuse containers)
- Water quality (e.g., pH and turbidity)
- Water levels (e.g., in reservoirs and storage containers)
A variety of government officials from both state and local governments all across the US were at the conference. We learned about technology trends in government, location strategies/analytics with GIS, and the latest innovations in the public sector.
Valarm showcased the Valarm Pro app sending sensor data via 3G/4G/WiFi to our cloud-based web database: tools.valarm.net. At the booth we also displayed live Valarm sensor data feeds imported into ArcGIS Online (AGOL, arcgis.com) via GeoRSS feeds. This was a hit, we showed real-time environmental factors from inside the conference facilities: air quality, carbon dioxide (CO2), temperature. We also demonstrated one of our most recent compatible sensor additions: the ultra-versatile 4-20mA industry standard sensor/adapter and a linear position sensor for applications like bridge flex detection.
Next up: real-time Valarm sensor data in Esri’s GeoEvent Processor. Looking forward to next year’s public sector CIO summit!
