You likely know that this holiday season many children and families didn’t have access to basic needs, like clean water, food, or a bed.

Child poverty is a gigantic global issue.

What can we do about it?

Fortunately, we had an opportunity to give back and volunteer our time to help some of the many poor folks in need around the world.

In Medellín, Colombia, Edward worked with students and a local university, ITM (MIT / Medellín Institute of Technology / Instituto Tecnológico Metropolitano), to make gifts and toys for less fortunate families around Ituango that have been affected by decades of violent, dangerous wars.

Now that peace is finding its way to the region today, there are more opportunities to help, working together with international agencies and groups like child poverty action groups and the United Nations.

After designing and making these regalos (gifts) in Antioquia, they were delivered to pueblos and villages hours away, just in time for the holidays. While these people may have so little compared to you or I, they’re content with the present moment and show that by sharing plenty of smiles while playing with the surprise presents they received.

We’ve begun our 7th year here at Valarm. And this holiday season we’re quite thankful for our families, health, and all of the wonderful experiences we’ve had with our customers over the years.

We’re a family company that is grateful for the opportunities we have to help various organizations and industries utilize to effectively monitor water, air, and anything else.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch at if you’ve got any questions.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday season and we look forward to working with you in this new year of 2018.
